As we approach the 14th Annual International Meeting of the society, we have been working hard to continue the tradition of having outstanding meetings in Miami. Under Sandy Staveski’s incredible leadership as President of the society over the past two years, the roles of the Executive Committee have been more clearly defined. As Secretary, I am responsible for planning strategies for the society to increase membership and the benefits provided with membership. The Membership subcommittee of the Connections Committee, under the leadership of Therese Giglia and Gwen Fosse, has been working very hard to increase membership with novel strategies including a limited time offer of 50% off membership for new members joining before November 30, 2018. Benefits of being a member of the society are increasing and we will continue to expand our offerings for members as a way to provide value for commitment to the society.  We are always looking for new and creative ways to increase membership and offerings which might entice people to join the society.

A sample of some of the current members-only benefits include:

  • Discounted registration to the annual international meetings
  • Members-only portal including job postings and directory
  • Access to select articles and publications

While we are on the topic of membership, I want to take a moment to thank Sandy Staveski for a monumental two years as President overseeing tremendous growth and maturation of the society and I am excited to continue my work on the Executive Committee with John Costello as the incoming President.

Hope to see many of you in Miami in December.
